It was cold, it was windy, and it rained, it was a typical bank holiday sunday... but the weather did give us this dramatic sky. Thankfully though a return to summer today!

Friday, 27 August 2010

My final post of the 'metal challenge week'. It's been fun to think that fellow bloggers have been similarly focused for the last five days and I've enjoyed seeing what people have come up with. Back to random images next week, have a good bank holiday weekend everyone.

For a long time I had wished for a mannequin to stand in our bedroom, and after some redesign and redecorating earlier this year I got my wish, and now I just love it and the shadows it creates.

I wonder just how many boats have used this for mooring over the years?

Precious metal, precious meaning...

Monday, 23 August 2010

Some fellow bloggers and myself have been set a challenge this week - to post images keeping within a theme of 'metal'. On first thoughts, quite a masculine subject and I suppose my post today reflects that, but it's really got me thinking and will be fun to see how the week progresses!

More family birthdays this week, my nephew and sister-in-law. Balloons, bunting and cake - what more could you ask for?!

Tuesday, 17 August 2010

Reflective - as today it seems to sum up my mood. Oh summer where have you gone? It's still August, please come back!

Monday, 16 August 2010

Yesterday I took part in a street sale organised in our area. I made a little pocket money of which some was spent on some vintage Ladybird books found further down the street, I couldn't resist. The illustrations, colours and text are just glorious!
PS I have just realised that Friday's post was my 100th, so today is the start of the next 100!

Friday, 13 August 2010

After the downpours of wet weather the past couple of days I was tempted to post a rain soaked plant today, but no! In the spirit of it still actually being summertime here is a dry flower caught in a brief period of sun yesterday. Enjoy a hopefully dry and warm weekend.

It seems my husband has now caught the Play-Doh bug. After seeing my attempts yesterday, he decided to outshine me and produce these last night - I think I need to find him something better to do with his time!

Wednesday, 11 August 2010

Until today I had forgotten how much fun Play Doh can be, the squishing and moulding was quite theraputic - I think my daughter enjoyed it too!

The Shell Museum in North Norfolk holds a special place in my heart, my Mum and Dad first visited some 40 years ago when they were courting and I recall several family trips there as a child. It is a truly magical place, a 'cabinet of curiosities', and I am charmed by it every time I return.

I think my fondness for bunting is evident by my blog banner. There's something about seeing it strung up anywhere, flapping in the breeze that just makes me happy, yesterday these flags were out for Wells carnival.

To finish my 'yellow week' here's one from my photographic alphabet archive. The week has been a success (I think!) and may try it again in the future. Back to normal next week, until then have a good weekend.

Thursday, 5 August 2010

I made a discovery today - these are one of the very few yellow items that I have in my wardrobe!

Wednesday, 4 August 2010

This is more my husband's style of photography, but today I thought I'd give it a go?!

Tuesday, 3 August 2010

An obvious choice for the yellow theme given the time of year, my daughter's sunflower which she waters every day - whether it needs it or not!

Monday, 2 August 2010

I have several of these around the house at the moment, as we are planning a couple of decorating projects in the autumn. They have inspired me to try something a little different this week, my posts will follow a yellow theme, picked for its bright summery colour - so we'll see how it goes!
