I discovered today that last week this website http://www.abbytrysagain.typepad.com/ ran 'unofficial flower week', well I guess this must have been my version! Hope you've enjoyed the floral theme, posts of different subjects next week! Enjoy the long weekend.
Auriculas are my all time favourite flower, I think its because they have an old fashioned look about them. Their history dates back to the 16th Century and are traditionally displayed with dramatic black backdrops to show off their vivid colours. There are hundreds of varieties, I only have a small collection but try to add to it each year!

Another blossom blog! Flowering Cherry only has a short season especially if the weather turns to wind and rain, but maybe thats why I enjoy it so much each year. Have you ever tried holding the flower heads? They feel soft and light to the touch and I just can't resist!

I still find nature amazing how the cycle of change rolls with the seasons - two months ago these damson branches were dull looking sticks and now...

Hope you had a good weekend, mine was spent enjoying the sunshine. I am predicting that this week may become a week of floral posts. I am lucky enough to have such a lovely array of blooms and blossoms in the garden at the moment, it seems a shame not to share.

This afternoon a friend came over, I made scones (with my daughter's help!) and taking advantage of the glorious weather we had a tea party on the lawn, a perfect end to the week! Have a nice weekend.

As mentioned yesterday I would take photos of our coastline everyday if I could. Today the sea was so calm and the sky so blue, if ever stress relief was needed, I think this is it.

I love the North Norfolk coastline and never tire of photographing it, especially on a blue sky day like today.

Aren't garden centres pretty? This display found at our local one, all artificial flowers - but imagine the scent if they were real?

Some days it feels like all I look at is this!

I love gazing out to sea, especially on a clear day like today, makes me really appreciate living so close to a beautiful coastline. Have a nice weekend.

A windmill today on a slightly less grand scale to yesterdays, but just as soothing to watch.

Went here today, http://denvermill.co.uk/ . Loved hearing the rythmic sound of the sails turning, and the seeing the shadows they created.

A morning spent colouring with my daughter, there's something about wax crayons that I just love - the smell and feel of them, takes me back to my childhood.

This was my view yesterday glancing skyward on our first picnic of the year. Wouldn't it be nice if all days could be this relaxed?

A secluded little corner in my parents garden, just right for curling up and reading a book on a warm spring day. Have a nice weekend.

Spotted this little scene on our travels today, a mother duck protecting her offspring, I know exactly how she feels ...

Rainy day reflections... not so much April showers, more constant downpour - lets hope for some sunshine tomorrow.

Here is a last picture on an Easter(ish) theme, decorations put away today for another year. Hope you enjoyed the long weekend.

Made Easter biscuits today, something that didn't contain chocolate I thought before the indulgence of the next few days! Hope you have a Happy Easter.
